Venue: Centro Integrado de Cultura, Florianópolis, Brasil Theme: Paris - A Living Canvas
Around the middle of the last century a group of photographic artists (Brassai, Cartier-Bresson, Doisneau) captured the ebb and flow of daily life on the Parisian streets. Their images contained elements of beauty, humanity and occasional surrealness. They did so using the atmospheric medium of black and white film. In tribute to these past masters I set out to capture street scenes of modern day Paris.
I set myself a personal project to capture imagery from all locations on the London version of the Monopoly board game. Did the Old Kent Road really did justify its £2 rent label? Do gentlemen still frequent the clubs of Pall Mall? What exactly is the Angel Islington? Does Mayfair really live up to its exclusive tag?
